Election Day

And here we are again.

In my world, 4 years ago this date, I was running back and forth from work to the house on Pebbles due to a plumbing problem, one plumber didn't show - I ran back to work, another said if I could leave right away he'd meet me there. Once the problem was corrected, I went to the fire station on Peevyhouse Road and voted. Then too, long lines, big promises.

I remember staying up until 2 in the morning, waiting for a result that I could trust. I remember visiting family down south and discovering by way of my political bumper stickers that we had a very different political view, and my lack of understanding as to what on earth they could be thinking.

We are in a messed up situation this time. No one individual will be able to correct this right away. Two years ago when the economy was flourishing so rapidly - when our state's treasury had TONS or money in it - when it looked like we were nearing the end in Iraq - a few of us grew very concerned - what goes up must come down.

And as with the Clinton Administration - many who carried a false hope - will be sadly mistaken when reality strikes. But at that point it will be too late.
